Water Main Break UPDATE

Water service has been restored in the Herricks Road/Jefferson Place area following today’s water main break.  Any residents experiencing rusty water conditions should run the cold water faucets in sinks and tubs until the water runs clear.  Toilets should be flushed several times each to clear after running the cold water faucets.  Do not run hot water while flushing lines, clear with cold water only.  Running hot water will draw rusty water into hot water heaters or tanks and will then be difficult to get out of the hot water system. Winter storm conditions have caused a water main break near Jefferson Place and Herricks Road.  The Mineola Water Department has already been notified and is responding to this break.

Residents in this area may experience temporary loss of water, reduced water pressure, or discolored water while repairs are being made.

An additional message will be sent when water service has been restored.
