Storm Update

February 1, 2021

0900

Mayor Scott P. Strauss declared a State of Emergency last night, January 31, 2021 at 8:30 PM in advance of the current winter storm.  This Emergency Declaration allows the village to better prepare for storm response.

Rear Yard garbage collection was suspended.  Sanitation services will continue as regularly scheduled, but residents must bring refuse to the curb for collection

Village offices and Mineola Memorial Library will be closed today, Monday February 1.

We are now only partially through this storm event.  More than 5 inches of snow has fallen and all vehicles must remain off the street until plowing is completed, most likely Tuesday AM.

Roads are slick and winds are gusting up to 40 mph limiting visibility.  Residents are advised to remain indoors and limit travel if possible.

Additional notifications will be sent via email, the Village website, social media, and on Mineola TV 18/38 as new information becomes available.  Please monitor these sources for accurate news updates.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation during this weather emergency.
