Parking Regulations Suspended

MOST PARKING REGULATIONS SUSPENDED

To better accommodate residents during the COVID-19 response period, the Village of Mineola is suspending most residential parking regulations until further notice, effective immediately.

This is being done to ease parking pressure on residents such as those who are not going to work, staying home with children while schools are closed, and households with adult children who have been sent home from college.

Parking regulations will still be in effect in all metered parking, except Harrison Avenue (which is a residential street), and permit-only parking spaces, both on-street and in Village parking lots.

In addition, regulations ensuring public safety and traffic safety will still be enforced. These include, but are not limited to, such regulations as “no parking here to corner,” blocking driveways, obstructing fire hydrants, etc.

Hopefully, temporarily suspending most parking regulations will help to alleviate additional burdens on residents during this trying time.
