Pool Rules and Regulations

Children under the age of fourteen (14) MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT (an adult must be 18 or over and will have a letter “A” on their Leisure Pass to indicate such).

Spitting, nose blowing, urinating, and defecating is strictly prohibited in both the wading pool and main pool. All swimmers are advised to take a soap and water shower before entering the pool. Persons having skin lesions, inflamed eyes, mouth, nose or ear discharges, or having any type of bandage or adhesive tape on their body will not be permitted to use the pool.

ALL children with diapers must wear swim diapers when using the kiddie pool.

NO CHILD UNDER THREE YEARS OLD IS ALLOWED IN THE MAIN POOL AND MUST BE POTTY TRAINED.

NO chairs of any type may be brought into the pool, unless specifically approved by the Pool Administration in advance. CHAIRS ARE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. Only one (1) chair or chaise lounge is permitted per person. For children’s safety, chairs are not permitted near the kiddie pool. Unoccupied chairs may not be reserved at any time. No towels, clothing, or other objects are to be left on chairs.

ALL electronics, including cameras, are prohibited on the lower deck. Only electronics equipped with headphones or ear buds are permitted on the upper deck only. The use of cell phones is limited to the upper deck and only for emergency conversations. Prolonged phone conversations imposed on those around you are prohibited in the pool facility.

Food of any kind, including crackers, baby food, and candy is NOT permitted. A food/cooler containing-area is available by the pool entrance. Coolers are prohibited inside the pool facility. All coolers are subject to inspection. Soda bottles or any glass containers are prohibited. Alcoholic beverages in the pool area, or anywhere on village property, violates Village Ordinances and is subject to a fine and/or arrest. Vending machines along with an area for eating is located in the park in front of the main pool entrance. Soft drinks in non-glass containers may be brought into the pool area on the upper deck only. VIOLATION OF THIS REGULATION WILL SUBJECT THE PASS HOLDER TO A LOSS OF PRIVILEGES.

Diaper changing is only to be done in the locker rooms where changing tables are provided. Diapers are to be disposed of in the diaper receptacles only.

There are no services provided for the checking of valuables, jewelry, wallets, etc. The Village of Mineola assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Lockers are provided for your convenience, and are available during pool hours only. Under no circumstances are any items to be left overnight.

Solicitation of any kind is prohibited.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the facility, including e-cigarettes and vaporizors.

Ball playing, running, pushing, throwing others into the pool, use of profanity, or any other behavior causing annoyance to others is prohibited.

Only members and guests who successfully pass slide pre-test will be authorized for slide use. The use of the water slide will be strictly regulated by the lifeguards and attendants on duty.

The wading pool is designed for children five (5) years of age and younger. Parents and/or supervising adults are responsible for the children utilizing this facility. No inflatable toys, masks, snorkels, or flippers of any kind are permitted in either pool. The use of any other objects shall be at the discretion of the pool administration. No apparatus of any kind is permitted in the main pool.

Any person with long hair (male or female) must wear a bathing cap (shower caps are not acceptable), or tie their hair back securely. Rubber bands are not recommended. Long hair is defined as hair which falls below the ear lobe when wet.

Diving is limited to 10-foot section only. Only one person at a time will be allowed on the diving board. Divers must swim to the nearest ladder upon surfacing. DIVING IS AT THE DIVER’S OWN RISK.

Only people without shoes, dressed in proper bathing attire, shall be permitted on the lower deck of the pool. Inappropriate attire, such as bathing suit thongs, shorts exposing under garments, etc., is prohibited throughout the facility. Burkinis, SPF clothing and material made with lycra/spandex is permitted for religious purposes and/or sun protection only.

A SPECIAL AREA for baby carriages and strollers has been designated by the Pool Administration for the use and safety of the pool members. CARRIAGES AND/OR STROLLERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ON THE LOWER DECK OF THE POOL AT ANYTIME.

The maximum bather load of the pool facility is 411. If at any time during operation hours this capacity is exceeded, the Pool Administration shall, at their discretion, ask that people leave the water. The health and safety of all members and guests is paramount.

When entering the pool gate, members must show their Leisure Pass. There are no exceptions to this rule. Leisure passes are subject to revocation if presented by anyone other than the person to whom the pass was issued. Passes are not transferable. PASSES MAY BE REVOKED for failure to comply with all sanitary and/or safety rules, as well as regulations specified for the proper administration of the pool facilities.

Supervising adults shall at all times be responsible for the conduct and behavior of the children in their charge in order that regulations regarding the safety and use of the facility are fully complied with.

The number of guest passes per member per day is limited to two (2). Should you have extenuating circumstances that might require special attention, please see the Pool Director. Guests are only permitted pool access with members 18 years of age or older. MEMBERS MUST REMAIN WITH GUESTS AT ALL TIMES.

Lifeguards and pool attendants are required to enforce and maintain all regulations for your safety and convenience. Please cooperate at all times. Violation of this rule will result in the revocation of your Leisure Pass and privileges.
