John S. DaVanzo Community Pool to Open June 19 Returning to pre-COVID Operations with Few Exceptions

The Village of Mineola announced today that the John S. DaVanzo Community Pool will open June 19, 2021.

Due to easing COVID regulations, this year the Pool will be able to return to its normal full day schedule and will include such popular functions as swim lessons, adult swim, aquasize, and splash parties.

The pool will operate during the following hours:

Modified Hours: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday, June 19 through Friday, June 25
Regular Hours: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday, June 26 through Friday, August 13
              Adult Swim (18+):  8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Modified Hours: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday, August 14 through Monday, September 6

  • Guests will be limited to two guests per adult, per day
  • Swim lessons will be offered, but may be limited in size and availability
  • Swim Lesson Registration is Saturday, June 26 at 8 a.m. at the pool

Session 1: Tuesday, June 29 to Friday, July 16
Session 2: Tuesday, July 20 through Friday, August 6
Swim Lesson Fee: $25.00
Adult Swim Lessons are Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

All swim lesson classes are from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., in half hour Intervals

  • Pool staff will continue regular, ongoing sanitizing of facilities throughout each day.
  • Children under 15 years old must continue to be accompanied by an adult at all times

Additional rules or modifications, if needed, will be posted at the pool as the season progresses.

Valid 2021 Village of Mineola Leisure Passes ARE required for pool use and swimming lesson registration.  All residents seeking a 2021 Leisure pass MUST have a new photograph taken for their pass.  Please see the village website for Leisure Pass information and instructions at https://www.mineola-ny.gov/recreation/pages/leisure-passes

For those residents who have not yet renewed or obtained 2021 Leisure Passes, late fees will be waived.

Residents requiring Leisure Passes should apply as soon as possible to avoid delays once the pool opens.
