Incorporated Village of Mineola accept the amount of $10,000.00 from the New
York State Office of Children & Family Services Grant, Contract # TM05D34,
Award #5-2288, a result of a Senate Majority Initiative by New York State
Senator Michael A.L.Balboni. This sum
relates to the costs of resurfacing of two hockey rinks utilized by the youth

Water Department Supervisor
Fred Booher gave an update on the Clearwell at Well #4 and reported that it
would be back in operation by the week of 12/18/06.
Resolution No. 362-06
Resolved to approve the
installation of a third electric meter for the non-owner occupied, legal two
family dwelling located at 209 Roosevelt Avenue, provided that the meter is
used only for the enclosed common area that may not be used as a third unit. Be it further resolved that the allowance for
the third meter will expire upon sale of the property or becomes owner occupied.

Superintendent of Public
Works Thomas Rini reported that the 2006 Road Resurfacing program had been
completed. Mr. Rini stated that the
actual cost of the project
was $196,000 which is a
savings of $13,000. Mr. Rini reported that the 2006 Tree Planting program would
begin on December 14, 2006 and that the leaf removal program had been completed
early due to heavy rain this past fall.
Mineola Fire Department Chief
Jack Gayson reported on recent call activity and urged everyone to use caution
with electrical cords and candles. Chief Gayson reported that Operation Santa
began on December 12, 2006 and that interested residents could contact Gary
Mazur for more information. Chief Gayson
announced that the annual subscription drive is scheduled to begin in January
2007.
Mayor Martins welcomed
Mineola Boy Scout Troop 45 and thanked them for attending the meeting.

MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED “UNIFORM
CODE ENFORCEMENT”, TO
COMPLY
WITH THE NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS ESTABLISHED
BY
THE NEW YORK DEPARTMENT OF STATE IMPOSING MINIMUM
ENFORCEMENT
AND ADMINISTRATIVE STANDARDS FOR THE NEW
WITHIN
THE
Resolution No. 363-06
Resolved to approve the Local
Law amending Chapter 26 of the Mineola Municipal Code, entitled “Uniform Code
Enforcement”, to comply with the new rules and regulations established by the
New York Department of State imposing minimum enforcement and administrative
standards for the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code
within the Village of Mineola.
