Martins reported that the Mineola Chamber of Commerce is contributing $5000.00
for the banner project.
Village
Clerk, Joseph Scalero presented a request for a peddler’s license to the Board
of Trustees. Mayor Martins and the Board
of Trustees agreed to table the request until the owner/operator’s insurance
and driver licenses could be verified.
Building
Department Superintendent, Daniel B.Whalen, stated that there were a few
complaints from owners of food establishments about the applicant. Village Attorney, John Spellman, informed the
members of the board that mobile vendors cannot interfere with tax paying
business owners.

Mayor
Martins asked Trustee Paul Cusato for a status report on the Community Center
usage policy. Trustee Cusato stated that
the report would be ready by the first board meeting of 2006.
Mayor
Martins discussed the importance of removing cars from the road during
snowstorms. Mayor Martins recommended
parking in a municipal lot until the roads have been cleared.
Mayor Martins requested a
motion to close the Work Session at 7:45 PM.

Mayor Martins opened the
Public Meeting at 7:45 PM.
Mayor Martins reported on the new traffic pattern at the LIRR station. Mayor Martins thanked all of the community groups for inviting him to their holiday gatherings and wished everyone a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year.

Lawrence Werther offered his condolences to the Grillo Family. Trustee Werther reported that the next
Chamber of Commerce meeting is scheduled for December 20, 2005 at 7:30 at
Piccolo Bussola and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Linda Fairgrieve thanked Marta and Anna in the Recreation Department for the
Tree Lighting ceremony. Trustee
Fairgrieve thanked all of the Mustang Run participants
and
announced that next year’s run is scheduled for November 19, 2006 and will be
dedicated to the Centennial.

Paul Cusato thanked Marta and Anna for the Tree Lighting ceremony and wished
everyone Happy Holidays.

John DaVanzo gave an update on the Centennial Committee and said that more
volunteers were needed. Trustee DaVanzo
thanked the American Legion for the Pearl Harbor ceremony. Trustee DaVanzo wished everyone a Merry
Christmas.
Mayor
Martins announced the Police Task Force hearing scheduled for Monday, December
12, 2005 as well as the Master Plan hearing scheduled for December 14, 2005,
both at 7:00 PM. Mayor Martins reported
that the Police Task Force Reports will be mailed to residents and businesses
and is already available for viewing at the Mineola Library and Village Hall.
Mayor Martins requested a
motion to close the public meeting at 9:25 PM.
