Water Department Supervisor, Frederick Booher gave the monthly water report. Mr. Booher also reported that beginning October 17, 2005 the Water Department would be conducting routine hydrant flushing between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM through November 4, 2005.

Department of Public Works Superintendent, Thomas Rini announced that there would be a normal sanitation schedule for the Columbus Day holiday on Monday, October 10, 2005.

Mayor Martins opened the
Public Meeting at 7:45 PM.
Mayor Martins also commended Chief Holliday on his leadership of the Mineola Fire Department at the recent fire in New Hyde Park. Mayor Martins asked residents to keep the Ignaczak, DiGiorgio, Dawber and Rowe families in their thoughts.
Trustee
Lawrence A. Werther urged everyone to attend the upcoming Mineola in Style event at
The Jericho Terrace on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 6:30 PM. Trustee Werther
also
reported on upcoming events at the Mineola Memorial Library.
Trustee
Linda Fairgrieve thanked officials at the Town of North Hempstead for the
Town’s $5,000.00 contribution to the Mineola Mustang Run. Trustee Fairgrieve expressed her support for
the New York Yankees.
Trustee
Paul Cusato expressed his condolences to the Ignaczak Family. Trustee Cusato congratulated the Fire
Department and Ambulance Corps for their response to the recent fire in New
Hyde Park.
Mayor Martins
opened the meeting to the public.
VFW Commander Sal Cataldo requested permission to hold a Veteran’s Day ceremony at Memorial Park (Community Center in foul weather) on November 11, 2005.
