Resolved to approve a request by United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) Local 342 for a
one day parking permit for the Blood Drive Bus at their union office at 166 East Jericho Turnpike from 1:00 PM – 8:00
PM on Monday August 17, 2009 subject to the follow conditions:
· The bus is to be parked curbside only in front of UFCW offices at 166 East Jericho Turnpike
· The bus is to be operated in such a manner so that it does not impede the flow of traffic on Jericho Turnpike

Water Department Supervisor Frederick Booher presented June and July Water and Sewer monthly report and also presented an annual comparison to 2008 report.
Library Director Charles Sleefe mentioned that the library will be hosting the Abraham Lincoln Exhibit from November
12, 2009 through January 10, 2010 and presented a poster of Abraham Lincoln and flyers that he plans to distribute to
the Chamber of Commerce, School Board and various other locations throughout the village and requested permission of
the Board to display the Lincoln poster at Village Hall until the exhibit ends.

Mayor Jack M. Martins congratulated Chief Jeff Clark on his election and administered the oath of office to Capt. Carl
Nunziata and 2nd Lt. Matthew Sanderleaf of the Mineola Fire Department Company 2 and congratulated both officers
and wished them success.

Mayor Jack M. Martins congratulated Chief Jeff Clark and the newly installed line officers of Company 2; discussed the “National Night Out” event and thanked Chief Spae and the members of the Mineola Auxiliary Police Department; reported that the meeting he had with Inspector Canavan, Deputy Inspector McCarthy and POP Officer Sikorsky was encouraging and that he looked forward to working with them in the future.
Trustee Lawrence A. Werther reported on the Abraham Lincoln Exhibit coming to the Mineola Library, mentioned that the Chamber of Commerce is combining their “Taste of Mineola and “Mineola in Style” programs into one fundraiser on October 15, 2009 and that the proceeds benefit Mineola organizations.
Trustee Paul S. Cusato congratulated Chief Jeff Clark and the Mineola Fire Department.
Trustee Thomas F. Kennedy also congratulated Chief Jeff Clark and the Mineola Fire Department, commented on the summer recreation program, and congratulated the summer Recreation staff.
Trustee Paul A. Pereira commented how positive the meeting
was with the Third Precinct Commanders, Inspector Caravan and Deputy
Inspector McCarthy and that he looks forward to working with them. Trustee
Pereira also congratulated the Recreation staff for a great program this year.
