Mayor Martins opened the
Public Meeting at 7:30 PM.
Mayor Martins reported on a
meeting with Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy.
Mayor Martins also reported on the Flag Day Ceremony at
Trustee Lawrence Werther
reported on the NYCOM conference and Governor Spitzer’s proposed Local
Government Consolidation and Efficiencies Commission and its
negative affect on
villages. Trustee Werther also reported
on the Mineola Memorial Library as well as the Chamber of Commerce.
Trustee Linda Fairgrieve
invited volunteers to join the Mustang Run/Walk Committee for the envelope
stuffing party scheduled for Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 6:30 PM, at the Community
Center.
Trustee Paul Cusato reported
on the Junior Fire Drill on June 9, 2007 and the Boy Scout Breakfast on June
18, 2007. Trustee Cusato congratulated
the Girls Soccer (ages 10 and under) on taking first place after their
undefeated season and also congratulated the classes of 2007. Trustee Cusato also gave an update on the
Neighborhood Watch Program.
Trustee John DaVanzo thanked
the members of the Board for honoring him with the renaming of the pool.
Mayor Martins thanked the
parks and recreation staff for an outstanding job of preparing the pool for the
2007 season.
