Superintendent of Public
Works, Thomas Rini gave an update on the pool opening at Wilson Park. Mr. Rini gave and update on staffing issues
that may effect pool hours as well as some mechanical problems with the pool
slide and heaters. Mr. Rini also reported
on the status of nigh security at the Wilson Park Pool. See Tom Rini for “personal services”
language.
Resolution No. 251-06
Resolved to approve Global
Security Associates as night security for the Mineola Pool and be it further
resolved to authorize Mayor Jack Martins to execute the Personal Services contract
for overnight security services at the Mineola Pool, beginning June 18, 2006
through September 4, 2006 (Labor Day) from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Mayor Martins reported on the
NYCOM conference that he recently attended.
Mayor Martins reported that conference attendees heard presentations
from New York State Gubernatorial candidates John Faso, Elliott Spitzer and Tom
Suozzi. Mayor Martins commented on Mr.
Spitzer’s remarks regarding the Third Track and his failure to consider the
local impact of the project.
Mayor Martins thanked
Mayor Martins stated that the
Village is required to enforce the village laws without consideration for who
it affects. Mayor Martins stated that he
is working with the Building Department to ensure that the fence regulations
are enforced across the board.
Mayor Martins urged residents
to behave with civility and respect at public meetings.
Trustee Paul Cusato reported
on the Mineola Fire Department’s mutual aid call in
Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the Meeting
7:30 PM.
