Superintendent of Public Works
Thomas J. Rini gave an overview of the Stormwater Phase II Annual Report and
announced that copies of that report can be found at Village Hall and at the
Mineola Memorial Library for viewing. Superintendent Rini stated that the
holiday sanitation schedule would be in effect for Memorial Day. Superintendent Rini also reported on the
Mineola Carnival and preparations for the upcoming pool season.

Deputy Mayor Lawrence A. Werther commented that the Mineola Fair was a success and thanked the Chamber of Commerce and the Veterans and the Department of Public Works for all their help in making it a successful event. Deputy Werther reported that he attended the New York Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials (NYCOM) meeting in Saratoga and that Assemblywomen Michelle Schimel was presented an award by NYCOM for her bill that would correct the Cuomo Consolidation Bill presently passed by the Senate. Deputy Mayor Werther further commented on Memorial Day especially the meaning behind the day, and invited everyone to attend the Memorial Day Parade next Monday at 11:00 AM at Wilson Field.
Trustee Paul S. Cusato thanked all those behind-the-scenes Chamber of Commerce volunteer coordinators that prepare, execute and follow-up on all of the items that are needed to make a successful event. Trustee Cusato also thanked and congratulated the Mayor of East Williston, Nancy Zollezzi, who just completed her term as President of the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA).
Trustee Thomas F. Kennedy commented that the Mineola Fair was a terrific event and also thanked the many groups responsible for this success especially the Mineola Auxiliary Police Department. Trustee Kennedy also invited everyone to try and make it to the Memorial Day Parade.
Trustee Paul A. Pereira commented that he and his son enjoyed the Mineola Fair and thanked all those involved. Trustee Pereira reminded parents that as the school term ends and many different social events start of the National Social Law which makes them responsible should anything happen where liquor is served to minors in their homes.
