Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Mineola

held Wednesday, May 10, 2006 Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.

Trustee Paul Cusato was excused from the meeting.

 

Resolution No. 163-06

 

Resolved to approve bills and payroll.

Resolution No. 164-06

 

Resolved to award the bid for the for the Streetscape Reconstruction of Mineola Boulevard (Old Country Road to Third Street and First Street to Second Street) to New York Paving, Inc.for $496,470.00.

Resolution No. 165-06

 

Resolved to approve the Mineola Middle School’s request for the use of the Gazebo area at Mineola Memorial Park for “Shakespeare in the Park” performances on Monday, May 22, 2006 and Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 8:00 AM to 2:37 PM.

Superintendent of Buildings Daniel B. Whalen apologized for missing the last Board Meeting and reported the Building Department’s revenue for the month of April. 

 

Mayor Martins thanked Mr. Whalen and recognized Grace Jurek and Karen Calabro for their work in the Building Department. 

 

Mr. Whalen also reported on the starting dates for the new hires in the Building Department.

 

Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the Work Session at 7:10 PM.

A Public Hearing was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM at the Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501 in order to receive public comment on the following:

 

 

Proposed Comprehensive Master Plan effectuating

Zoning Amendments and their impacts upon the environment

 pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act.

 

 

Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the hearing at 9:15 PM.
