Minutes – Board Meeting 04/10/08

 

Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Mineola

held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.

ALSO PRESENT:                 Benjamin Truncale for Village Attorney John Spellman

                                                Village Clerk Joseph R. Scalero

                                                Deputy Village Clerk Janet H. Zalkin

                                                Village Treasurer Giacomo A. Ciccone

                                                Mineola Memorial Library Director Charles Sleefe

                                                Deputy Village Treasurer Carl Marchese

Mayor Martins opened the Budget Work Session at 7:30 PM. 

 

 

Mayor Martins said that in light of the current economic times, board members and department heads alike will need to tighten their belts and hold the line to keep taxes down while meeting the needs of the departments.  

 

Library Director, Charles Sleefe, presented the 2008-2009 budget for the Mineola Memorial Library.

 

Mayor Martins requested a motion to go into Executive Session at 7:50 PM.

Mayor Martins requested a motion to come out of Executive Session at 8:00 PM.

Village Treasurer, Giacomo A. Ciccone, presented the 2008-2009 budgets for the following departments:

 

v     Accounting  Department

v     Mineola Justice Court

v     Building Department

v     Mineola Auxiliary Police Department

 

Mr. Ciccone also discussed projected revenue and expenses for the 208-2009 fiscal year.

 

Village Clerk, Joseph R. Scalero, presented the 2008-2009 budget for the Village Clerk’s Department.

 

Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the Budget Meeting at 9:15 PM.
