Mayor Martins opened the Work Session at 6:30 PM.

Resolution No. 65-06

Resolved to approve a 5-year BAN for $100,000 for emergency repairs to Well #4.

Resolved to ratify the Mineola Memorial Library contract with CSEA employees and authorize Mayor Jack M. Martins to execute documents.

Village Attorney, John Spellman reported on the status of the law suit against Nassau County.

Mayor Martins asked the board members if they had any specific questions pertaining to the budget for the proposed police department. Trustee Fairgrieve voiced her concerns regarding staffing, liability and repairs, and the needs of the Village.

Trustee Fairgrieve referred to the proposal for an RFP that was presented at the Work Session on March 1, 2006. The Board of Trustees discussed Trustee Fairgrieve’s advertising for the proposed Request for Proposals.

Resolution No. 68-06

Resolved to publish the Request for Proposals for a feasibility study as developed and submitted by Trustee Linda Fairgrieve on March 1, 2006 as discussed.

A Public Hearing was held at 8:10 PM at the Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York, 11501 to consider the adoption of the proposed Comprehensive Master Plan effectuating Zoning Amendments.

Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the hearing at 9:45 PM.
