Trustee Paul S. Cusato reported on the Mineola Historical Society meeting that he attended and congratulated President Neil Young on an outstanding job; applauded Mineola High School students on their pancake breakfast fundraiser for Haiti earthquake victims, and announced the passing of Mineola Fire Department Ex-Captain and Warden Lewis Buttacoli and recognized his many years of service to the community and the high regard the community and department had for Warden Buttacoli.

Trustee Thomas F. Kennedy also congratulated the students, faculty, and volunteers from Mineola High School on a tremendous fundraising event and thanked everyone for their support.

Trustee Paul A. Village Attorney John M. Spellman gave a status report on the Garden City Verizon Construction at 13th Street indicating that both temporary air handlers are off-line – one has been removed, the other will remain on site (but disconnected), for emergency use only and that the sound proofing and screening is scheduled to be completed in mid-March with no further construction planned thereafter.
