reported that as of February 1, 2005, 611 parking permits had been issued at
$55.00 each and one transferred at $10.00 totaling $33,615.00.
Resolved to approve a 90-minute parking restriction from
7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday on the west side of Hudson Street
from Liberty Avenue to the Dead End.

Be it resolved that the Village of Mineola wishes to participate in the Nassau County Stormwater Management Grant Program awarded to the County by New York State Department of Conservation.
Be it further resolved that the Village of Mineola will participate in the Nassau County Storm Water Management Grant Program by providing 75 hours per year of in-kind, Stormwater Management services for a period of two years.
The in-kind Stormwater Management services that the Village of Mineola will provide for 75 hours per year for a period of two years are as follows:
1. Debris removal and clearing of 75 catch basins per year.
2. Debris removal and cleaning of Village roadways through street sweeping
and right-of-way cleaning and maintenance
3. Cleaning and maintenance of the Village’s Stormwater Retention Basin

Superintendent of Public
Works, Thomas Rini displayed one of the Village’s new
“Shoppers Parking” signs that
will be placed throughout the village.
Water Department Supervisor,
Frederick Booher reported that the most recent repairs to the Clearwell at Well
#4 appeared to be successful. Water was
added and no leaks were found. Mr.
Booher reported that the well is currently being disinfected and that testing
would be done on Thursday or Friday.
Mr. Booher stated that based on sampling, the clearwell may be back in
service by the end of next week.

Mayor Martins opened the Public Meeting at 7:36 PM.
Mayor Martins said that he had received a number of calls regarding the
Mineola School District’s Bond Referendum and urged residents to attend the
school board meeting tomorrow night at 8:00 PM at the Willis Avenue School.
Mayor Martins invited residents to the Community Center for the Kiwanis Club
Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 6, 2005 and the Junior Fire Department’s
Pasta Dinner on February 13, 2005 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Mayor Martins reported that the “Night on
the Town” fundraiser to support St. Aiden’s Church and Corpus Christi Church
raised approximately $38,000. Mayor Martins also thanked the Department of Public
Works for clearing the streets after the recent blizzard. Mayor Martins also thanked the Mineola Fire
Department, Ambulance Corps. and Auxiliary Police for their efforts during the
blizzard.
Trustee Lawrence Werther thanked the Department of Public Works their
efforts during the recent blizzard.
Trustee Werther reported that the Mineola Library employee contract was
in negotiations. He reported that the
Mineola Chamber of Commerce would be hosting a “Taste of Mineola” in the near
future and gave the Justice Court report for the month.
Trustee Louis Santosus thanked the Department of Public Works for their
great job of clearing the snow. Trustee
Santosus reported that Eagle Scout Candidate Drew Barnett would be selling
flags to raise money for his Eagle project that involves improvements to the
Historical Society.
Trustee Linda Fairgrieve thanked the Department of Public Works for their
efforts during the snowstorm. Trustee
Fairgrieve also thanked the Village employees for their work on the Mineola
Bridge rededication. She gave a report
on some upcoming programs sponsored by Winthrop-University Hospital.
Trustee Paul S. Cusato reported that the M.A.A. and P.A.L. were gearing
up for their spring programs and that soccer and lacrosse clinics are
underway. Trustee Cusato thanked the Department
of Public Works and emergency services people for their efforts during the
blizzard. He also offered his
congratulations to Michael Arens, Village Clerk for receiving the Long Island
Business News 40 under 40 Award.
