Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Mineola held Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.

Mayor Martins called the Work Session to order at 6:30 pm.

Mayor Martins introduced Cub Scouts from Pack 246 who were visiting Village Hall prior to the work session and asked them to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Resolved to authorize USI Consulting Group for Government Accounting Standard Board 45 (GASB 45) actuarial compliance services at a base amount of $5,300.00.

Mayor Jack M. Martins complimented the Department Public Works for its response to recent snow removal, announced his appointment of Cora Kelly as Deputy Village Clerk and welcomed her to the Village of Mineola, gave an update on the installation of a traffic light on Herricks Road, and noted that the New York State Department of Transportation’s Roslyn Road Grade Elimination Project is completed.

Trustee Lawrence A. Werther announced that the next meeting of the Library Board will be on January 26, 2009 and welcomed the Cub Scouts in attendance and the new Deputy Village Clerk.

Trustee Paul S. Cusato thanked everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy and support on his wife, Kathy’s, passing.

Trustee Thomas F. Kennedy thanked all those that worked on getting the Herricks Road traffic light project underway.

Trustee Paul A. Pereira spoke about an exhibit at the Library on President Abraham Lincoln and how symbolically important it is during our Presidential Inaugural season and wished both his mother and father Happy Birthday.
