Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Mineola

held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, New York 11501.

Mayor Martins opened the Public Hearing at 6:45 PM. 

 

 

Mineola High School student, Blondy Beharovic, presented the Board of Trustees with a proposal to build a Skate Board Park within the Village of Mineola, undertaken as part of his Mineola High School Senior Project.

 

 

Mayor Martins requested a motion to close the hearing and reserve decision on the proposed Skate Board Park.

A Public Hearing was held at 7:15 PM at the Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola, NY  11501 in order to receive public comment upon the following:

 

APPLICATION OF FIRST HARTFORD REALTY CORP. FOR A SPECIAL  USE PERMIT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF MINEOLA ENTITLED “ZONING”, SECTION 30.31 ENTITLED “B-1 DISTRICTS” SUBSECTION B, ENTITLED “SPECIAL USES” FOR  THE SALE AND STORAGE OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE PRODUCTS   UPON THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS 17 EAST JERICHO TURNPIKE, MINEOLA, NEW YORK, KNOWN AND DESIGNATED ON THE NASSAU COUNTY LAND AND TAX MAP AS SECTION 9,  BLOCK 342, LOT (S) 28, 35 AND 36.

 

The applicant requested the Board’s reconsideration of the stipulation to close the curb cut on Royal Avenue as a condition of the approval of the Special Use Application. 

Deputy Mayor Lawrence Werther  requested a motion to approve the Royal Avenue curb cut opening.

FOR A SPECIAL PERMIT, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE INCORPORATED VILLAGE OF MINEOLA, ENTITLED “ZONING”, SECTION 30.33(B), FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A GYMNASTIC AND CHEERLEADING INSTRUCTIONAL SCHOOL, CHILDREN’S PARTY STORE, WITH SALES AND/OR SERVICES OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN AN M ZONE UPON THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS 49 WINDSOR AVENUE, MINEOLA, NEW YORK, KNOWN AND DESIGNATED ON THE NASSAU COUNTY LAND AND TAX MAP AS SECTION 9, BLOCK  662, LOT 10.

Mayor Martins announced that a New York State public hearing would be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 6:00 PM at the Hofstra University Club to address the topic of congestion pricing and its impact on the surrounding areas.
